Compassionate Customized Counseling in Person or Online

Tray Dubray, LCSW

About Me:

I grew up in Colorado Springs, Colorado with my mom and moved to Oklahoma City, OK in high school with my dad who was in the Air Force. Like many people, I experienced a lot of childhood adversity and a very non-traditional upbringing. I explored therapy and counseling with mixed results.

Upon high school graduation, I joined AmeriCorps . During my service, I did one year in Charleston, SC with the National Civilian Community Corps, followed by a second year at City Year Seattle King County.

At 21, I moved back to Colorado and graduated with a degree in Sociology and Human Services from Fort Lewis College. I became interested in social justice, spent time living in Mexico, led a summer trail crew, and worked for a wilderness drug rehab program. Stripping away all the noise and technology was definitely an experience I’ll remember forever!

After graduation, I moved to Fort Collins, CO to work in a children’s residential treatment center. I received my Masters in Social Work from Colorado State University a few years later.

I moved to Denver in 2007 to work for a non profit helping extended family members take over as parents when the biological parents were unable to. I became a Licensed Social Worker and eventually a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.

What is the distinction between a LSW and a LCSW?

I began working as a therapist in community mental health and found my day to day interactions with patients inspiring and challenging.

Dubray Counseling and Consulting is my private practice that supporting caregivers, caregiving roles and professions and youth in crisis.

Being able to guide someone who is in crisis to identify their major triggers and create new healthy behaviors is something I am grateful for every day.

Ramm Dass once said, “We’re all just walking each other home.” As a therapist, I get to walk patients home every time we meet.
